Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire

Khalil Hamra

Several regional and global bodies accused the Israeli occupation forces of using lethal forces against unarmed protesters.

"It is outrageous to shoot at children", Mladenov tweeted Friday evening.

"The Palestinians are 300 metres closer to the Israeli border than they were last week because this protest is about a key issue - the right of return".

"The leaders of Hamas are the only culprits in the death of the boy, the cowardly leaders who hide behind children and women and send them forward as human shields so that they can continue digging attack tunnels and carrying out terror attacks against the State of Israel", Liberman said.

However, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon called on the global body to condemn Hamas's use of children as a cover for their terror activities.

Israeli army gunfire killed a 15-year-old boy and two young men, aged 24 and 25, in northern Gaza, rescue workers said, and a 29-year-old Palestinian was shot dead in the south of the coastal enclave.

"How does the killing of a child in #Gaza today help #peace?"

US President Donald Trump's Mideast envoy Jason Greenblatt also said on Twitter that "A full investigation by Israel of Mohammed Ayoub's death is underway so that we will be able to understand what happened".

Since late March, 32 Palestinians were killed and more than 1,600 wounded by Israeli army fire in these protests, according to Gaza health officials. #Children must be protected from #violence, not exposed to it, not killed! "This tragic incident must be investigated".

For a month, clashes had erupted at the demonstrations and Israeli soldiers had used live fire to keep Palestinian crowds away from its border fence.

Before Friday, 28 Palestinian protesters had been killed and hundreds wounded by Israeli army fire from across the border fence since the protests began in late March.

The Gaza Health Ministry says 445 Palestinians have been wounded in protests on the Gaza-Israel border, including 96 who were wounded by Israeli army fire.

The group said Mohammad al-Sawalhi, a cameraman for the Gaza Media Center, was injured by a live round in his right hand in Gaza City's eastern neighbourhood of Shujaiya.

Palestinian authorities claimed that Fadi was an expert in energy use and had contributed much to the field of electrical engineering and energy production, especially in Palestine, and had been targeted by Mossad because of this. The numbers could not be verified by Israel.

Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian ambassador at the United Nations, accused the Israeli forces of demonstrating the "cruelty of their occupation machine, responding to the calls of unarmed civilians for freedom and justice with brutal and lethal force".
