Giacomo Agostini says Valentino Rossi is 'exaggerating' accusations against Marc Marquez

Cal Crutchlow reigned supreme in Argentina, however, the GP was overshadowed by the antics of defending champion Marquez. "What happened with Valentino was a mistake caused by track conditions".

The Yamaha rider was left incensed after being forced off the track by his MotoGP counterpart on Sunday.

Marquez tried to explain himself after the race. All the riders on the grid except Miller were running on wet-spec motorcycles.

After an impromptu meeting with the top bosses and the organisers at Dorna, it was decided that Miller will be starting in the front row, while the other riders will pushed further back. There was an impromptu meeting between the racing officials and team managers to decide on how to start the race without affecting Miller's advantage. As you can imagine when you are on a starting grid with 20 riders behind you with their engines on, you want to be in a safe position.

The drama though hadn't ended.

In the aftermath, the Italian did not mince words when discussing Marquez, as he said the Spaniard's actions were detrimental to MotoGP. He was given a huge head start as a result, although Marquez caught up once racing began.

Although Marquez had the pace to simply walk by Rossi, an overzealous and miscalculated overtaking manoeuvre saw the reigning world title clip Rossi's bike.

The World Champion started to scythe his way through the field, as Miller, Zarco, Rins and Crutchlow pulled away at the front of the field. Marquez, riding like a raging bull, was making swift progress and nearly knocked out Aleix Espargaro while passing him on Turn 13.

Non-factory Moto GP rider Jack Miller surprised the world by clinching the first pole position of his career in the Grand Prix of Argentina on Saturday, outdoing the factory riders in hard wet qualifying conditions.

Crutchlow couldn't enjoy the lead for long, as Zarco surged ahead with four laps still to go. Miller was coming under tremendous pressure and he finally buckled entering Turn 1, where he nearly lost the front of the bike, but somehow managed to stay on the motorcycle. "Because if all the riders race like this, without any respect for the rivals, this is a very risky sport and [it will] finish in a bad way".

He dived up the inside of Rossi going into Turn 13, misjudged it and sat up, forcing Rossi onto the wet grass where he promptly slid off.

Cal Crutchlow became the first British rider to lead the premier class Grand Prix championship since Barry Sheene in 1979 after clinching his second MotoGP win in Argentina.

Marquez passed Maverick Vinales on the final lap to take fifth, but was hit with a 30-second penalty that dropped him down to 18th.

The incident didn't only affect Rossi and Marquez.
