Sam Nunberg changes tune: 'Let him arrest me' to likely cooperating

Another name on the list Carter Page the former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign who was snooped on by the FBI

Nunberg also accused former Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page of having played a role in the foreign attack on the election. But he's not the first to challenge Mueller: Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort filed a lawsuit in January challenging Mueller's authority to indict him.

"I'm going to end up cooperating with them", he told the Associated Press. Robert Mueller is the lead counsel in the investigation on the president's involvement with the Russian government during his campaign.

In a tense moment on CNN, anchor Erin Burnett told Nunberg that she smelled alcohol on his breath.

Fresh from being subpoenaed by the Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation during the 2016 United States presidential election, Nunberg went rogue.

Nunberg denied the comment, saying that the only thing he had taken that day were antidepressants. "He hasn't worked at the White House, so I can't speak to him or the lack of knowledge he clearly has".

"I'm not going to weigh in on somebody that doesn't work at the White House", she said.

By the end of the Tur interview, Nunberg asked her what she thought would happen.

When an unknown person answered the phone at his home Tuesday morning, the person said Nunberg is done doing interviews.

"Donald Trump won this election on his own", Nunberg said. "I think it would be really, really amusing if they wanted to arrest me because I don't want to spend 80 hours going over emails I had with Steve Bannon and Roger Stone", he said, referring to both the former White House chief strategist and one of Trump's associates.

The Washington Post said Nunberg provided the paper with an apparent copy of a subpoena seeking documents related to Trump and nine others, and that Nunberg said he was asked to appear before the grand jury in Washington on Friday. "I definitely did not dump a body in there between the hours of 4 and 6 last night". I think that I was just more of myself in these interviews than I've ever been.

The "international businessman" who spoke with Murphy would seem to track with CNN's reporting about Mueller's shifting focus in the Russian Federation probe. The subpoenas demand communications starting from November 2015, but Trump fired Nunberg in July 2015.

Regarding his TV tour, he said to Nuzzi, "Did I sound drunk?".

"I'm a little anxious about me", Nunberg told the Daily News.

In one of his interviews with MSNBC, Nunberg stated that he had no problem testifying, and the only reason for defying the subpoena was because he does not want to go through an "80-hour" long session of checking his e-mails with former colleagues.

Trump filed a $10 million lawsuit against Nunberg in July 2016, accusing him of violating a nondisclosure agreement, but they settled the suit one month later.

If Nunberg believes the document requests are overbroad, he can negotiate with Mueller's office to narrow the scope - or better yet, have an attorney talk to the special counsel's office to try to pinpoint more precisely what they are looking for.

The White House was quick to dismiss Nunberg and his claims.
