Voters Wary of Trump, Confident in Economy

The new poll by Quinnipiac University found that 79 percent of respondents supported citizenship for the immigrant youths, while 11 percent said the youths should be deported.

While most U.S. voters in the poll (53%) thought Trump was intelligent, 69% thought he was not level-headed and 57% said he was not fit to serve as president.

Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer has already spent millions to try to persuade Americans that Trump should be impeached, and he's vowed to spend more in what many see as a primer for his own presidential aspirations.

The wealthy will benefit most from this plan, 66 percent of voters believe, while 22 percent say the middle class will benefit most and 4 percent say low income people will benefit most. "That is the highest number ever recorded by this poll".

Ninety-two percent of Democrats and 64 percent of Republicans said the young immigrants should be allowed to stay.

Voters said by a margin of 69-28 percent that Trump is not level-headed and 57 percent of voters said he is not fit to serve as president.

Overall, the poll clocked Trump's approval rating at 36%, which has changed little during his first year in office.

Voters were also asked to describe the first year of the president in open-ended questions and 25 words were negative in nature.

It came just days after Trump made the unexpected declaration that he is "a very stable genius" following the publication of a new book that says, among other sensational things, Trump's top advisors regularly discuss his mental health and stability, and the possibility of using a constitutional amendment to oust him from office.
