Home of Roy Moore accuser Tina Johnson burns in Alabama

Home of woman who accused Roy Moore of misconduct destroyed by fire authorities investigate arson

Though all their belongings were destroyed in the fire, Johnson, her husband and their grandson that lives with them were all out of the house when the fire was set.

Johnson was among eight women who came forward to say Moore acted inappropriately with them, with four saying he pursued them while they were teenagers and he was an adult.

"My neighbors are just heartbroken, too", she said. We have just the clothes on our backs, ' she said.

Tina Johnson, one of the eight women who accused former Republican candidate for Senate in Alabama, Roy Moore, of sexual misconduct, lost her Etowah County home in a fire on Tuesday. "But there have been no charges, to my knowledge, related to the fire at this time", said Natalie Barton, the public information officer with the department.

Another female neighbor told Johnson that the young man in question approached her as she was leaving her home that morning and asked if she thought the house was going to burn down.

Investigators are speaking to a person of interest, but warrants have not been obtained in this case.

Johnson and her family are living in a motel while their friends and neighbors help them recover from the blaze.

Tina Johnson, who in late 2017 accused Moore of groping her in his law office in the early 1990s, told AL.com that her home caught fire Tuesday morning.

"I threw on my coveralls and took off down the driveway", he said, adding that his wife called 911, but the dispatcher said the fire had already been reported.

Moore's Democratic rival, Doug Jones, was sworn in Wednesday as the next senator of Alabama. He has denied all the allegations.
