During Trump inaugural, Flynn greenlighted nuclear project with Russian Federation

During Trump's Inauguration Speech, Flynn Was Doing Private Russia-Related Business on His Phone, Whistleblower

Trump's former national security adviser told a business associate that USA sanctions imposed on Russian Federation would be "ripped up" by the new administration, according to a whistleblower account made public Wednesday in a letter written by Rep. Elijah E. Cummings.

Representative Elijah Cummings, the senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said a whistleblower had contacted his office with evidence that Flynn was pushing to remove sanctions on Russian Federation in order to spur the ambitious nuclear plan ahead.

These statements from Flynn to Alex Copson, managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners, reveal Flynn's attempt to "manipulate the course of global nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners", Democratic representative Elijah Cummings wrote in a letter Wednesday.

The whistleblower said that Copson quickly displayed what he claimed to be a text message from Flynn that appeared to have been sent during Trump's inauguration speech.

"These grave allegations compel a full, credible and bipartisan congressional investigation", Cummings wrote, according to the New York Times. According to a photo of the moment that the Democrats dug up, Flynn was standing only a few rows behind Trump and peering into his phone as the president spoke. On Inauguration Day, according to the whistle-blower, Mr. Flynn texted the former business associate to say that the project was "good to go".

Cummings said the individual contacted his office and authorized him to make his account, but not his name, public. Cummings and committee Democrats have complained that Gowdy has stiff-armed the Flynn investigation since he took over the committee in June by consistently refusing to issue subpoenas to the White House and various administration officials, Flynn's consulting firm and his business colleagues related to the matter.

Copson then told the whistleblower that Flynn "has been putting everything in place for us" and that the project would "make a lot of very wealthy people". He was ousted as national security advisor after only 24 days on the job. "They have now informed us that they have done so".

Gowdy did not immediately respond to requests for comment. He also lied when he said he did not recall a follow-up conversation with the ambassador, who said that "Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of Flynn's request".

Cummings did not identify the witness, whom he described as a whistleblower. Trey GowdyHarold (Trey) Watson GowdyGowdy: FBI has had a "really bad last 18 months' Benghazi panel used 0K in taxpayer money to settle wrongful termination lawsuit Congressional investigators make first evidence requests in Russian Federation nuclear bribery case MORE (R-S.C.), chairman of the House Oversight Committee".

Cummings said he had found the unnamed informant to be "authentic, credible and reliable", and offered to produce the person for Gowdy.

It also raised fresh questions on what Trump knew about Flynn's business plans when he appointed the retired three- star general to serve as his national security advisor.
