Three Chinese students injured in French vehicle attack

Two students badly injured in vehicle attack in France, local media reports

All three of the victims, one woman and two men, are said to be in their early 20s.

A man fell "deliberately" with his auto driving on students in the city of Blanquac, on the outskirts of Toulouse, southwestern France.

Couilleau said the driver claimed he acted deliberately and was arrested.

The interior ministry said in a statement the suspect has a history of mental problems and the incident doesn't appear to be terrorism related. La Dépêche du Midi newspaper quoted him as telling police he had heard voices telling him to harm someone.

The AFP news agency quoted French police as saying it was a possible vehicle attack and that the driver was not on a security watch list.

The injured students were taken to a hospital in Toulouse. A 23-year-old is more seriously injured, a young man and another girl, aged 22 and 23, have lighter injuries.

The crash took place in front of Saint-Exupery high school in the suburb of Blagnac.

In July past year, a Tunisian man ploughed a 19-tonne truck into a crowd in the southern city of Nice, killing 86 people.
