More than 62,000 people live within the danger zone however, anyone living outside the zone have fled.

General view of the Mount Agung in Bali, which threatens to explode on Friday 22 September 2017.

The entire population of Ambae is being moved from the path of the "increasingly active" Marano volcano, also known as Lombenben, according to the Pacific nation's government.

As Indonesia's Mount Agung volcano threatens to erupt, an alert was raised to the highest level and more than 120,000 people have evacuated, officials said.

Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the chances of an eruption are 'quite big, ' although experts can't predict when with certainty.

Vanuatu's Ambae island hasn't been evacuated on this scale since an alert in 2005, Minister of Land and Natural Resources Ralph Regenvanu told CNN. Aids and donations continue to arrive from various sources, from the central government, local governments, businesses and communities.

Authorities said last week that Mount Agung has shown signs of magma rising, forcing them to create a 7.5-mile buffer zone around the mountain where the volcano is located.

"It's been six days since we are here, we want to go home", said Wayan, 65, who like many Indonesians only goes by one name. Back then, there was no evacuation plan, people just "ran to save themselves", he said.

As many as 134,229 people are displaced in Badung regency spread out in 15 points (5,879 people), Bangli regency 30 points (6,158 people), Buleleng regency 26 points (16,901 people), Denpasar City 51 points (11,036 people), Gianyar regency 16 points (12,084 people), Jembrana regency 29 points (420 people), Karangasem regency 122 points (49,575 people), Klungkung regency 173 dots (27,395 people), and.

Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport is the second-busiest in the country, after Jakarta's main international airport.

"The total number of tremors has decreased, but if we compare the strength [of tremors] it is definitely increasing", said Gede Suantika, an official at national vulcanology agency.

The last time Bali's Mount Agung volcano erupted, a stream of molten lava flattened teenage Gusti Nyoman Dauh's home, while cascading ash, rocks and hot gas killed 1,600 of his neighbours.
