Groping case: Jury rules in favour of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift cries during closing arguments of groping trial

One of the few pieces of evidence in the trial was a picture from the photo-op obtained by TMZ that showed Mueller standing next to Swift with his hand behind her and below her waist.

Mueller launched a $3 million lawsuit against Swift in 2015 for loss of earnings, arguing it was her allegations that had got him sacked, while the popstar counter-sued for sexual assault.

During court proceedings last week, Taylor, her mother and the singer's former security guard Greg Dent took the stand to testify against Mueller. Taylor Swift says "no", had replicated the lawyer of the star, Doug Baldridge, in front of the jury at the federal court in Denver. Statement obtained by CNN continued: "I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help make the voices of those who should also be listened to", she added, promising to give money to "multiple associations" of victims of sexual assault.

It is a known fact that although there are a lot of documented cases of sexual assault, there's still a significant percentage of cases that are undocumented because the victims are too scared to speak up or get some help.

A fan whose office in Denver is across the street from the courthouse (Carly Chapple, who works for the crafting website Craftsy) decorated her windows with inspirational, on-theme lyrics from Swift's songs spelled out in Post-it notes.

Mueller testified that he did not grope Swift and said his career in radio had been ruined by what he said was a false accusation.

Mueller says the placement of his hand in the photo - in which he and his then-girlfriend posed with Taylor - looked awkward because, he says, "I wasn't invited to be in [it]".

After days of emotional testimony, Judge William Martinez threw out Mueller's original lawsuit against Swift on Friday, and on Monday, the jury made their decision in Swift's case.

"I've been trying to clear my name for four years", Mueller told reporters after the verdict, explaining why he sued Swift. They did not call the police to avoid further traumatising her daughter, she said.

When pressed if she thought Mueller got what he deserved when he was sacked, Taylor said: "I don't feel anything about Mr. Mueller".

Mueller stood firm during the trial that he had never grabbed Swift's behind, and on Monday after the ruling, he told ABC News that he was innocent.

Swift said she was stunned - and didn't say anything to Mueller or halt the meet-and-greets because she didn't want to disappoint the few dozen people waiting in line for a photo with her.
