Mithali Raj and team bowled over by the grand reception at home

The Indian women's cricket team were promised a cash reward of Rs 50 lakh each for their impressive performance in the ICC World Cup in England, but if reports are to be believed, hike in the said figure as well as match fees is likely.

The development means that England women pacer Anya Shrubsole's match-winning haul of 6-46 in the ICC Women's World Cup final against India on July 23 will feature when the new boards are installed. "You must ask this to the players who've just come into the side", said Raj.

"We should start straightaway preparing for the World T20 scheduled next year", Mithali said. "When you are speaking about IPL, that means it's not about exposure but also quality matches palatable for crowd", a BCCI official, who has worked with women's cricket, said today. "I still feel that I have 2-3 years to serve the team and for this country".

"While it is a happy day for all Indians, it is really a matter of great pride for the Railways specially". "We are looking into an honours board in one-day cricket for everybody", he said. "In 2005, women's cricket was not under the BCCI, so the reception then was [quieter]".

"Definitely, a win would have felt better but I am happy with their effort". I hope all the other Indian players get a chance in such leagues which will help in their overall development.

Not just that, Mithali and fellow teammate Veda Krishnamurthy were seen dancing in the dug-out during India's crunch semi-final clash against Australia - who were also the defending champions.

"I hope the BCCI also considers such a tournament here where we can share the dressing room with the foreign players and learn a lot", she added.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India presented cheques of Rs 50 lakh each to the cricketers and Rs 25 lakh each to the support staff of the team.
