Senate announces probe of Loretta Lynch behavior in 2016 election

The top Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have launched an investigation into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch to find out if she interfered with the FBI's probe into Hillary's email server.

In April, The New York Times reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation came into possession of a batch of hacked documents, one of which was said to be authored by a "Democratic operative who expressed confidence that Ms". Lynch declined to comment at the time. "Lynch would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far". Lynch tried to shape the way he talked about the investigation into Mrs. Clinton's emails, and he also hinted at other behavior "which I can not talk about yet" that made him anxious about Ms.

President Donald Trump fired Comey on May 9, citing a memo by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation director of mishandling the Clinton email probe, among other things.

The Washington Post reported last month there was a document claiming that Schultz sent a letter to Bernado claiming Lynch had been in private communication with Renteria about the investigation claiming the she would not let the FBI investigation go too far. Chairman Grassley then requested a copy of the document from the Justice Department, which has failed to respond. Citing anonymous sources, the Post reported the document was a Russian forgery deliberately planted to confuse the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Circa's report contrasts with a Washington Post claim that the Federal Bureau of Investigation provided Lynch with a "defensive briefing" on the alleged document in which she was reportedly cooperative. Lynch was heavily criticized for creating what appeared to be an impression of impropriety given that meeting took place just days after Comey had announced that the Bureau would not charge Hillary Clinton. Renteria likewise said she does not know Lynch.

Largely unreported by the news media, these questions surrounding Lynch are so serious that, in his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee this month, Comey conceded that the appointment of a special counsel in the Clinton e-mail case would have been appropriate due to his concerns about Lynch.

Lynch last June met with the 42 president aboard a private plane on the tarmac of the Phoenix Airport. Debbie Wasserman Schultz about the email investigation. So even if the email was bogus there are some related questions the committee might want to ask about Lynch putting her fingers on the scales.
