But last night, with regular partner Bruno Soares, Jamie became the first British victor of the Queens Club doubles title since Jamie Bates in 1990, when they beat France's Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in front of a watching Judy, 6-2.

After their Aegon Championships triumph over Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, Murray-Soares are unbeaten in the grass-court season and Jamie became only the second Brit to win a doubles crown at Queen's after Jeremy Bates in 1990.

"I think my heart rate dropped below 180 for the first time once we won the first set of this match, having had to get through the semi-final before", added Murray.

Earlier in the day, mum Judy had said she believed her sons would team up one day at Wimbledon.

"Of course it's better this time", Soares said.

"Andy has said he'd like to [play doubles with his brother] but whether he follows through on that..." I mean, still obviously now it's too hard for him because singles is obviously a big priority, and physically it's so demanding.

"I'm very happy with my partner". I'm not rushing to call Andy up and ask him when he wants to play'.

After a disappointing quarter-final exit from the French Open last month, Murray had sounded ambivalent about whether his partnership with Soares was working.
