Eric Trump: We have no dealings, no projects with Russia

It's been reported that Trump asked Rogers to publicly state that there is no evidence that there was collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign.

Sen. Angus King of ME, an Independent who caucuses with Democrats, picked up on Heinrich's questions, demanding a "legal justification" for why Rogers and Coats were not answering questions.

"I have never been directed to do anything I believe to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate", Rogers said at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing Wednesday, under questioning from Sen.

"I'm not sure I have a legal basis, but I am more than willing to sit before this committee ... in a closed session and answer your questions", Coats said.

NSA Director Mike Rogers, left, Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, center, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo, right.

Comey, who will testify before Congress Thursday, reportedly wrote a memo saying Trump asked him to back off investigating Flynn.

Mr. Warner began the hearing by telling the assembled chiefs of America's leading law enforcement and intelligence agencies that the White House engaged in an "appalling and improper use" of the nation's intelligence apparatus.

The conversations with Coats and Rogers took place in the wake of Comey testifying on March 20 that the FBI was investigating possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives.

This morning, the Senate intelligence committee held a kind of dress rehearsal for the Comey hearing tomorrow. Trump fired Comey in May.

"What you feel isn't relevant, admiral", King shot back.

"When you're talking about matters on which the president has been quite expansive, and then you say, 'Oh my goodness, I can't say anything, ' that's pretty hard to reconcile", he told reporters.

I do not feel it is appropriate for me in a public session to breach confidential conversations between the president and myself in a public session.

Rosenstein's public testimony will be the first since he appointed - in the face of rising pressure from Congress - former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel investigating possible links between Russian Federation and the election. King stayed on him until it was clear that he wasn't going to answer anything, and then King turned his attention to Roger and Coats. They filibustered, claimed they didn't like the public forum and noted that they felt that answering certain questions was inappropriate.

Wednesday, Coats and Rogers said they never felt pressured by Trump to impede any investigation.

"Why are you not answering the questions?" John McCain and Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr both spoke up to tell her to give the witnesses a chance to answer her questions.

"I think I'll let Director Comey speak for himself tomorrow in front of this committee", McCabe said.

King demanded to know why they won't directly answer the questions about their conversations with the President of the United States.

It is well within the intelligence committee's purview to determine whether the president has tried to impede a national security investigation focused on a covert operation mounted by Russian Federation to subvert an American election.

"I understand your answer".
